The Scent

Gulaab Malai takes the same rose that anchors much of our range and gives it a completely different mood — softer, sweeter, and more comforting. Malai means cream, and that's exactly the effect: a powdery, fresh rose wrapped in warm vanilla, so the sharper, more serious edges of rose disappear and what's left is gentle and a little nostalgic, like rose-flavoured milk on a cold evening. Fragrance as the Doorway

Rose has been central to Indian fragrance for longer than almost any other material — grown in gardens, distilled in Kannauj's attar workshops, offered at temples, scattered at weddings. Attardaan's name comes from the attardaan, the sealed casket that once held a king's precious attars, and everything we make tries to honour that same reverence for real, recognisable notes. The Rig Veda's Śrī Sūkta calls the goddess Lakshmi Ji Gandhadvārām — "she whose gateway is fragrance" — because a beautiful scent was believed to be how grace entered a home. Gulaab Malai, hand-blended in India, is a gentler telling of that same idea: not opulence, just warmth, offered through an open door.

Where to Use It
