Dheet — Oud, Cashmeran & Musk Attar
Dheet means stubborn, and this attar earns the name — a bold, dense oud composition built to stay for hours rather than fade politely. This oud attar for men pairs dark agarwood with soft cashmeran and warm musk, oil-based and alcohol-free, hand-blended in India with the same seriousness behind every bottle we make, carrying the old idea from the Rig Veda's Sri Sukta that fragrance is gandhadvara — a doorway through which something powerful enters a home — a belief that shaped Kannauj's oud tradition across five thousand years.
The Notes
The opening is dark, resinous oud, immediately softened by cashmeran's velvety warmth, before deep musk settles into the base and gives the whole composition genuine staying power. As an oil attar, Dheet sits close to the skin and blooms slowly over several hours, growing richer rather than fading the way alcohol-based sprays eventually do.
Mood and Character
The character is bold, stubborn and unmistakably long-lasting — an attar for a man who wants his fragrance to genuinely last through a full day or evening without needing reapplication. It suits formal occasions, Fridays, festivals, and any setting where a dense, oud-forward attar feels appropriate. This is one of the more concentrated ouds in the attar collection.
When and How to Wear It
Dab, don't rub, on the wrists, behind the ears, and at the throat. A small amount is genuinely enough — Dheet is concentrated and blooms with body warmth rather than needing a heavy hand. Best applied before formal evenings, letting it deepen gradually as the hours pass.
Is it alcohol-free? Yes, a true oil attar suited to pooja, Fridays, and formal occasions alike. Why does it last so long? Oud and musk are naturally long-wearing materials, and the oil base keeps them close to the skin rather than evaporating quickly. Every bottle is hand-blended in India, honest about its strength. If fragrance really is a doorway, as the old texts describe, Dheet is a strong contender for the best attar for men who want genuine, stubborn presence rather than a fleeting spray. Good for gifting to an oud enthusiast? An excellent choice, especially for someone who already owns lighter oud sprays and wants to experience the material in its traditional, concentrated oil form. Does it stain clothing? A small, careful dab absorbs cleanly, though it is best applied directly to skin rather than fabric. Store it away from direct heat and light, and expect Dheet to remain one of the most dependable, long-wearing bottles in the entire attar collection. Layer a drop underneath Dhurandhar or Nawab for an even deeper oud accord on formal occasions, or wear it entirely alone as a genuinely stubborn, all-day signature. Because it is so concentrated, even a small 10ml bottle tends to last for months of regular Friday and festival wear before ever needing a refill, making it one of the more economical bottles in the collection despite its premium character and undeniable staying power on skin.

The Vessel Is You
attardaan
अत्तरदान
noun — the vessel that holds the attar
An attardaan is a real object. Long before it was our name, it was the small ornate box a household kept its perfume in — brought out for weddings, for guests, for the days worth marking. The word says exactly what it is: attar, the fragrance; daan, the holder.
We call the people who wear our scents Attardaans because the name has quietly changed hands. A bottle keeps a fragrance for a while. You give it warmth, a pulse, and somewhere to go. Worn, a scent stops being something you own and becomes something you carry.
In the Rig Veda's Śrī Sūkta, Lakshmi Ji is invoked as Gandhadvārām — she who is approached through fragrance.
The Śrī Sūkta · Rig Vedagandha, fragrance · dvāra, doorway
Which is why, to us, our Attardaans are the most beautiful people we know.

Our Customers Ask
Our fragrances are hand-blended in the traditional attar style using concentrated oils, so they sit close to the skin and unfold gradually over several hours. Wear time varies with skin type, climate and how much you apply — for the best results, apply to pulse points (wrists, neck, behind the ears) on slightly moisturised skin right after a shower.
An attar is a traditional Indian fragrance oil, made the old way and typically alcohol-free, so it's applied directly to the skin and blooms slowly. A perfume (eau de parfum) usually uses an alcohol base, which makes the scent lift faster but fade sooner. At Attardaan, we work in the Kannauj attar tradition — hand-blended, concentrated, and made to last.
Most of our fragrances are crafted in the traditional attar style and are alcohol-free. Composition can vary across our range, so please check the individual product's description for the exact details of the fragrance you're looking at, or message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm before you buy.
Our fragrances are hand-blended using quality ingredients and are generally gentle on the skin. That said, everyone's skin reacts differently to fragrance oils. If you have sensitive skin or a known fragrance allergy, we recommend a small patch test on your inner wrist before applying it more widely.
It depends on how you like to wear your fragrance. A 10ml is perfect for trying a scent, travel, or keeping in your bag for touch-ups. A 100ml is a comfortable everyday bottle for regular use. A 200ml suits someone who's found their signature scent and wants it to last without reordering often. Not sure yet? Start smaller and size up once you know it's the one.
